Gazelle FA Sporting Director Housseni Touré has clarified the situation surrounding the Jetour vehicle awarded to Cameroonian Ballon d’Or winner Serge Daura, explaining that the car has been secured because the player is still a minor.
Daura, one of the standout performers in the MTN Elite One, received the vehicle during the Cameroon Ballon d’Or ceremony. However, its absence from public view after the event sparked speculation among fans on social media.
Speaking on the matter, Touré reassured the public that there was no controversy surrounding the prize and that the club had simply taken precautionary measures.
“The car is in good hands because the player who received the award is still a minor,” Touré said.
The Gazelle FA official explained that the club decided to secure the vehicle to ensure it is properly managed until the young striker reaches the appropriate age and all necessary arrangements are completed.
Daura’s Ballon d’Or triumph capped a breakthrough campaign for the teenage forward, who has emerged as one of the most promising talents in Cameroon’s domestic league.
