Matchday Four of the National Interpools 2025 delivered drama, decisive victories, and individual brilliance as the race for Elite Two football intensifies.
At the FECAFOOT Technical Center in Odza, Sable Batié and Kumba City shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. After a tense and goalless first half, Stephane Ivan Abada gave Sable the lead in the 66th minute, but Gibel Pento Muh struck late in the 88th minute to rescue a point for Kumba City. Both sides will view the result as a missed opportunity to strengthen their chances of progressing.
Still in Pool A, Mintack Haut Sanaga produced one of the most dominant performances of the tournament with a 5-0 demolition of Olympique Meiganga, also in Odza. Ayissi Barnabe Frangele once again stole the show, scoring his second hat-trick of the competition with goals in the 45+1, 67th, and 81st minutes to move top of the scorers’ chart on six goals. Junior Dama and Christian Ndumbe also found the net as Mintack cruised to victory despite finishing the match with two red cards.
Dream Team FC Bamenda then became the first team to qualify for the semi-finals after a 3-1 win over Mintack Septentrion in Mbankomo. Guigno Robert had given Mintack an early lead in the 6th minute, but Dream Team responded strongly through Sylvain Franck Poualeu’s 22nd-minute equalizer, Tala Lesley’s 44th-minute strike, and Malachi Nfor’s 77th-minute goal. With three wins from four matches, Dream Team now sits on nine points and holds the head-to-head advantage over Mintack, underlining their status as one of the competition’s favorites.
In Pool B, Titanic FC Samar edged a five-goal thriller against Epervier Ebolowa, winning 3-2 at the CAF Excellence Center in Mbankomo. Jean Baptiste Onana opened the scoring for Epervier in the 15th minute, only for Brayan Samuel Nyetam to level nine minutes later. Arnold Boris Mezui restored the lead for Ebolowa in the second half, but Titanic rallied with Nyetam’s second goal in the 58th minute before Samuel Norbeth sealed the comeback in the 69th. The win keeps Titanic firmly in contention for a semi-final berth.
Matchday Four highlighted Dream Team’s early qualification, Mintack Haut Sanaga’s dominance, Sable and Kumba City’s late drama, Titanic’s fighting spirit, and Barnabe Frangele’s goalscoring heroics. With semi-final places still up for grabs, the 2025 National Interpools is shaping into a thrilling battle for promotion.
