Players from newly promoted Panthere Sportif have taken a stand against the club’s administration over unpaid wages and signing bonuses.

In a formal letter addressed to the club president on December 12, the squad, including captain Ngamaleu Jacques, voiced their frustration regarding outstanding payments for the months of September, October, November, and December.

The players highlighted that the failure to receive their dues not only undermines their morale but also breaches the club’s legal obligation to pay salaries on time.

“We hereby inform you that we have not received payment of the signing bonuses and, consequently, the salaries for the months of September, October, November, and December,” the letter stated. “Failure to comply is a clear manifestation of your duty and legal obligation which consists in paying wages within the time limits.”

They issued a stern ultimatum, demanding that all outstanding payments be settled by December 21. The letter made it clear that if their demands were not met, they would halt their professional duties and seek legal recourse to recover their wages.

“We are therefore hereby notifying you that you will proceed with the payment of our salaries which are due to us no later than Saturday, December 21. Failure to do so, we will stop exercising our functions as we should and, seize the law so we can get in possession of our dues.”

As the deadline has now passed, the situation remains uncertain regarding whether the club has addressed the players’ grievances. However, Panther Sportive took to the pitch on December 22 against Victoria United and delivered an emphatic 4-0 victory in Limbe.
