Fovu earned their return to the continental scene for the first time since 2003 by beating PWD in the final of the Cup of Cameroon while Paynesville FC also scooped Liberia’s prestigious national trophy after defying the odds against the country oldest club – Invincible Eleven last April.

That first trophy for the Monrovia-based outfit is the reason they enter the appointment with Fovu.

The first-leg game will be played between September 13-15 in Monrovia while. The match will be played on the weekend of September 20-23.

The aggregate winner of the tie first preliminary tie will advance to the next stage of the competition and face Stade Malien in October.

Elsewhere, Cameroonian champions Victoria United FC will start their campaign against Ghanaian champions FC Samartex.

The first-leg matches will be between September 13-15, 2024 at home and the return match in Ghana between September 20-22 2024.

Winner will face either Raja Club Athletic or US Gendarmerie in the next round of the competition in October.

The top seeded clubs were excluded from the draw but will enter the competition from the third round.
