Cameroonian forward Stéphane Cédric Bahoken has penned a new one-year renewable contract at Turkish Super League side, Kayserispor.

The club announced the move to offer a new contract to the 32-year-old Cameroon international on Tuesday, via X (former Twitter), bringing an end to weeks of spaculations about his future at and away from the club.

Bahoken joined Kayserispor in 2023 from rivals Kasımpaşa Spor Kulübü and has had a satisfactory time at the club including netting thrice in 23 appearances for the Apaches to help them achieve a satisfactory fifth place finish and qualification for continental football.

Financial details of the new deal for the number 13 have not been made public but we understand Bahoken has settled for a slightly improved package to stay in the club and fenoff interest from elsewhere including Saudi Arabian clubs.

Being more experienced next term, the former Nice, St Mirren and SCO Angers finisher could play a telling role for coach Burak Yilmaz’s side as they look to build on the impressive results achieved last season.

Kayserispor players will resume pre-season events this week and extend it through the month of August while testing waters via friendlies until the expected start of the domestic championship scheduled for early September. But even before then, the club will engage in preliminary matches in UEFA competitions through which Bahoken can open his account for what promises to be an interesting season.

French-born Bahoken who has had an over 15 years career in the game dating back to when his career started at Nizza in 2009 has also played for Strasbourg and his country Cameroon for which he has scored four goals in 22 appearances.
