Paris 2024: Uganda get first-leg advantage over Cameroon as Tanzania beat Botswana

The Indomitable Lionesses will return home with two goal deficit after a 2-0 loss to Uganda in the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers on Thursday.

Catherine Nagady opened the scoring for the host in the 11th minute of play.

Cameroon had the chance to equalise in the first half.

Uganda goalkeeper, Vanessa Karungi saved Ajara Nchout’s penalty to keep the scoreline at 1-0.

The East African side doubled the lead in the 75th thanks to Fazila Kwaput.

The return leg will be held in Cameroon with the winner facing either Nigeria or Ethiopia in the third round.

Meanwhile, Tanzania also beat Botswana 2-0 in the Second Round first leg encounter.

Opa Clement scored the opener for Tanzania in the second minute of play.

Aisha Masaka sealed the win with two minutes before the end of the match.

The return leg of the qualifiers will be held next week.
