Cameroonian cyclist Clovis Kamzong Abessolo, has emerged winner of the special CAMTEL prize, awarded to the best Cameroonian cyclist, in the 19th edition of the Cameroon international bicycle Jamboree.
Aged 31,the prolific and experienced rider came on fourth position, within a time frame of 1’16, after the yellow jersey winner El Kouraji Mohcine in the 4th lap of the competition.
Kamzong was on June 7, offered a one hundred thousand francs CFA cheque, by the lead telecommunications company. And was Bluefie in the corporation’s flamboyant colours and gadgets.
The Kribi-Douala race of 160,3km is considered to be one of the longest trips of the competition.
Though a difficult competition for the Cameroonian cyclists,many still carry hopes of a future victory, despite the foreign domination.
