10 teams battle for 2024 Beach Soccer AFCON slots in return leg

After the conclusion of the first leg of 2024 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BSAFCON) last weekend, the focus is now on the return leg billed for this weekend.

After five year hiatus, Nigeria return to international tournaments with a 5-4 win in Mauritania thanks to goals from Emeka Ogbonna, Adams Taiwo (brace) and Victor Tale (brace).

The return leg in Nigeria will take place at Murtala Muhammed Square, Kaduna State on Saturday by 5:00 pm local time.

Elsewhere, holders Senegal welcome Guinea after a 9-3 win in the first leg.

Ghana’s Black Sharks take a short trip to Abidjan where they face neighbours, Cote D’Ivoire with a 5-3 advantage.

Mozambique which also had a huge 7-3 advantage hosts next host of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, Seychelles.

Malawi like Nigeria with a slim 7-6 win in the first leg trade tackles with Burundi at home.

The winner of the five games on aggregate will join Morocco, Tanzania, and host Egypt at the 2024 Beach Soccer AFCON.
