Former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou has joined the prestigious Professional Fighters League. The information was officially made public on May, 16 , 2023.
The 36-year-old martial arts giant, is expected to make his PFL battle, on a pay-per-view in 2024 against an opponent to be reveal subsequently.
He is also keen on a professional boxing match, which his new contract with the PFL allows.
Via Ngannou, the PFL intends to launch multiple leagues across different continents in the coming years, with PFL Africa slated for 2025 .
He has termed his new deal “game -changing” and described himself as “very excited” about the partnership.
Now he will become part of the PFL’s tournament format, which works in seasons as part of a knockout competition, giving fighters the chance to reach a final with a prize of $1 million (£800, 000) for the winners.
