Usual suspects Kameni Alice Flora and Berthe Bengono Abega were on target as aspiring 2023/24 Guinness Super League champions FC Ebolowa rallied to beat Caiman Filles 3-0 on Saturday in Douala.
Kameni Alice Flora became the first player to achieve 20 goals in a season in the Guinness Super League era in the match day 20 fixture.
The former Louves Minprof striker scored a brace to help FC Ebolowa to a 3-0 win away to Caiman Filles which cements their charge towards a maiden domestic title.
As it has been the case in most parts of this season, Abega Berthe Bengono and Kameni stepped up for coach Oudou Kpoumie’s girls on the afternoon at the Bonamoussadi stadium, helping to shrug off gritty Caiman Filles.
Hosts Caiman entered the contest in a rich vain of form lately and were hoping to get a pinch off the flesh of the aspiring champions though it was a tough ask for Tatiana Emboutou’s team.
The 2008 champions had an honorable first 45 minutes but the wheels came off in the second segment as the aspiring champions.
Abega opened scores in the 55th minute of the game before Kameni scored a brace in seven minutes between the 78th and 85 minutes to seal the win.
FC Ebolowa defended resolutely to ensure all three points and a clean sheet were fetch from the Douala trip to keep their leaders status in an afternoon defending champions Lekie Filles edged Louves Minprof 2-0.
Kameni bagged her third Woman of the Guinnessico prize after the commanding performance – pocketing 50 000frs (approximately $100) as prize money.

Kameni’s latest brace breaks the records of Lamine Mana and Marie Giselle Ngah Manga achieved in the past two seasons. The 19-goal tally is the highest since the start of the Guinness Super League three years ago.
However, Kameni Alice Flora also achieved a rare 23 goal return in Louves Minprof’s 2020 title winning season, only that Guinness wasn’t on board then. She is thus three goals away from her personal best with two games to go.
FC Ebolowa and Lekie Filles are neck-to-neck with 50 points so far but the former leads courtesy of a superior head-to-head consideration.
Fortuna versus Dja Sports Academy and the meeting of Amazon FAP and Awa Filles FC will complete match day 20 commitments this Sunday at the FECAFOOT Technical Center in Odza.
