Fabrice Ondoa keeps another clean sheet as Rīgas advance in UEFA Champions League

Fabrice Joseph Ebogo Ondoa was scintillating again on Wednesday evening for Rīgas Futbola Skola as he kept a clean sheet to secure their 4-0 win against Larne in the return-leg match of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League preliminaries.

Carrying a 3-0 advantage to the second game at the Inver Park Stadium, Rīgas Futbola were came all out and didn’t slow down.

Brazilian forward Emerson Deocleciano put the visitors ahead after 38 minutes before quick strikes from Darko Lemajić and Jānis Ikaunieks just before the interval put the tie completely out of touch for the hosts.

20-year-old Ivorian forward Ismaël Diomandé completed the rout and scoring for the forwards when he found the back of the net ten minutes upon resumption to make it 4-0 and complete the scoring for the front three.

Though Larne had some half chances later on in the game, Ondoa stood in between them and scoring – making two crucial saves to earn another clean sheet.

The 7-0 aggregate win puts Viktors Morozs through to the next round of the competition and leaves them on course to making the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.

Ondoa, who has kept three clean sheets in three outings for Rīgas Futbola Skola will need to keep his shot stopping exploits to enhance the chances of his club making it to the group stage of the prestigious competition which he won in his days in the FC Barcelona youth team and was even named goalkeeper of the competition.
