Players and staff of Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda have failed to gather at their usual departure spot to matches ahead of their matchday 11 encounter against Apejes of Mfou in Mbouda.
The players and staff of the team who always gather at the Veterinary junction in Bamenda before going for matches have not been seen at the said venue this Saturday December 9, 2023.
According to sources, the management of the team lead by President Chi Chinda Chido Mitterrand Francois, have decided not to answer present in Mbouda to play at “home” against Apejes of Mfou.
Some weeks ago, the President of the team addressed a letter of observation and complain to the Prime Minister and Head of Government Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute saying that their home matches should be played in Bamenda at the Yong Sports Academy stadium.
CTFP, FECAFOOT President, North West governor, Territorial Administration minister, Minister of Special Duties at the Presidency of the Republic amongst others were all copied in the letter. We learnt all the authorities have ignored the said letter.
Despite this and having not received subventions from the Cameroon Football Federation, kick442.com has gathered that the management of the team have paid salaries of its staff and is still paying their daily training bonus, thus revealing the team is not in financial crisis.
The club is yet to make any official statement and it is left to be seen if the team will travel to Mbouda and in Douala to take Apejes and to Douala to play against Avion Academy.
Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda currently have 8 points and are seventh in Pool B .
