Foncha Street FC of Bamenda has edged Rangers FC of Bafut 2#1, in a North West regional derby. The game which counted for match day 10  of the Elite two championship, was played on Wednesday January 18, at the Bambili University field.

Carter Bakado scored in the last minute of added time, to secure all three points for Foncha Street, after Kache Boris’ early goal was cancelled out by Cheson Loibinho.

Rangers was on standby on match day nine, meanwhile Foncha Street was returning home from a 4#2 defeat they suffered in the hands of Leopard of Douala.

Rangers took charge of affairs immediately as referee Owundi Romeo signalled the kick-off of the game.

The first offensive move yielded fruits, when goalkeeper Lloris Tenda failed to deal with an inswinger from Clinton Yinyu and Kache Boris was at the right place to tap in, as Rangers took the lead.

Captain Silus Mungala, Gilbert Neossi, Clinton Atam and Musa Ismael, marshalled the back line to near perfection for Rangers.

Mungala made a crucial last ditch interception to stop Bakado Carter from levelling scores at the 23rd minute, shortly before Cheson Loibinho rattled the cross bar with a fine effort from outside the 18 yards box.

Foncha Street needed a fine save late in the first half from goalkeeper Lloris Tenda, to stop a fine free kick from Nsoh Fabrice, as Rangers took a one goal lead for the pause.

Coach Mbaboh Moses made some tactical twerks before the start of the second segment, with Didymos Adeh and Lionel Forche coming in to replace Jonas Mbaha and Ignatius Ojong respectively.

Continuous pressure from Foncha Street paid off at the 54th minute, when Cheson Loibinho slotted in the equalizer.

Kache Boris hit the side netting just after the hour mark, before Alain Dohgaah fired a fine chance way off target. The latter was then subbed off and replaced by Ngong Oliver.

The game looked like it was going to end on a parity, before Carter Bakado pounced on a defensive error from Rangers, coupled with a poor outing from goalkeeper Junior Njinwi, to slot in the match winner deep in added time.

The win means Foncha Street FC has returned to the top of the Elite two table, after Aigle of Mungo surrendered a one goal lead to suffering a 2#1 defeat to Stade FC of Bertoua.

Foncha Street FC now totals 18 points, one above second place Aigle of Mungo.
