Cotonsport of Garoua forward Daman Abdouraman scored twice in Matchday ten to help his club win for the first time in five and extend PWD of Bamenda’s winless run to four games after an early kick-off this Wednesday at the Bamendzi stadium.

Both sides struggling for form came into the contest keen on maximum points having failed in three previous attempts since resumption.

Though Cotonsport was without a handful of their regular players, they could still line up a team capable of troubling the hosts.

Daman who was joined by Emmanuel Chamdjou as the most experienced in attack was lively in the opening exchanges, trying to constantly break down the defence set up of Agbor Bogard, Berynyuy Derick and Nyaba Brian.

The defending champions dominated but failed to create real clear cut opportunities. The first real chance fell to Daman midway into the first half after a three versus one situation, but poor decisions wasted the chance.

Daman who was chasing his third goal of the season finally had it in the 43rd minute – exploring pockets of spaces in the PWD goal area.

Cotonsport took the advantage to the changing room, but things change quickly upon resumption.

Leonel Ateba made it 1-1 seven minutes into the second segment, igniting hopes of a recovery for the Abakwa Boys.

Daman took ten minutes to restore Coton’s lead, concluding a beautiful passage of play.

Che Malone, Aboubakar Siddik and co protected the lead till the end, thus making it a first win for Cotonsport since resumption.

Daman’s brace takes his sason tally to four goals and earns a fourth win for the Cotonsport side that moves up to second on the log ahead of their next game against Stade Renard of Melong in Garoua.

PWD must pick themselves up and gather rebuild momentum to face Renaissance that shocked Colombe with a 2-1 win this Wednesday in Yaounde.
