Teenage midfielder Eliesse Ben Seghir has opted to represent Morocco at international level after a successful switch of nationality from his previous French option.
The Monaco midfielder broke into the first team in the just-ended season and was a regular at the Principality of Monaco.
Many were expecting the player to pick France, But the 18-year-old, who was born in the French city of Saint-Tropez has opted to represent his parents nation over his nation of birth.
The decision to commit his international future to Morocco puts him amongst the players in contention to play at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in January next year at the AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire.
He is available for the September window, if coach Walid Regragui picks him.
