  • Karl Toko Ekambi scored at extra time to see Abha FC walk away with one point against a Sadio Mane and Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr
  • The Cameroon forward netted his third goal of the season in his six appearance for the side.
  • His late strike sees Al Nassr six game winning run come to an end but also Cristiano’s six-game scoring streak

It was a dramatic night in Riyadh as Abha snatched a 2-2 draw against Al Nassr with a last-gasp goal from Karl Toko Ekambi.

The Cameroonian forward unleashed a powerful shot from outside the box that flew past the goalkeeper and into the top corner, stunning the home fans and ending Al Nassr’s six-game winning streak in the Saudi Pro League.

It was another of his important late goals as he has done for Lyon, Cameroon and Villarreal over the years.

Al Nassr had taken an early lead through Otavio, who finished off a slick move in the third minute. The hosts doubled their advantage in the 28th minute when Anderson Talisca headed in a cross from Sadio Mane, who was the liveliest player on the pitch. Cristiano Ronaldo also had a few chances to score, but was denied by the Abha defense.

Abha pulled one back just before halftime when Saad Abdellah Bguir converted a penalty after Noguera was fouled by Laporte in the box.

The visitors grew in confidence in the second half and pressed for an equalizer, while Al Nassr tried to hold on to their lead. Mane was replaced by Abdulrahman Ghareeb in the 80th minute, a move that seemed to backfire for Al Nassr as they lost their attacking edge.

In the dying moments of the game, Toko Ekambi received the ball on the right wing and cut inside, unleashing a thunderbolt that left Alaqidi with no chance.

The goal sparked wild celebrations among the Abha players and staff, while Al Nassr were left shell-shocked.

The draw leaves Al Nassr in fourth place, four points behind leaders Al Hilal, while Abha move out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

The game was one of the most exciting and high-profile games in the Saudi Pro League this season, featuring some of the biggest stars in world football. Ronaldo, Mane, Talisca and Toko  all showed their quality and entertained the fans with their goals and skills.

However, it was Toko who had the final say with his stunning strike that earned Abha a valuable point and ended Al Nassr’s winning run.
