Dragon Yaoundé FC have become the first MTN Elite Two championship side to be relegated to the Regional championship this season following their heavy defeat against Avion Academy on Monday.

The heavy defeat against the visitors from Douala highlighted Guy Edoa Serge and co’s turpsy-turvy season as they conceded cheaply and made it comfortable for the winners.

The latest defeat made it the tenth loss for the 1996 Cup of Cameroon winners and condemned them to their tenth loss, which leaves them bottom of pool B with just three points from a possible 36 this season.

The relegation of the club is a massive fall from the standards of last season during which they qualified for the promotion playoffs.

The relegation is a second in just three years for president Kome Max as they lost their Elite One status in 2023 and only lasted two seasons in the MTN Elite Two.

Dragon will drop to the center Regional championship and compete with other clubs in that division.

The next four clubs after Dragon from the group will play the relegation playoffs while the top four clubs will compete in the title playoffs.
