Players of DR Congo top tier championship side Blessing FC are considering a strike action as part of efforts to push management to pay their salaries and other bonuses accrued in the past three months, kick442.com has gathered from FootRDC.com.
According to the reputable outlet the last two months have been far from a blessing for players committed to the club for the 2022/23 as a majority if not all of them have not received the agreed financial returns for their services despite their outstanding performances in the domestic championship.
Per the source, the club’s management hasn’t briefed the players about the precarious cash situation, thus creating distrust and promoting the idea of a strike action.
The club has accumulated 11 points so far in the championship and occupy the 7th spot after seven matches.
The case of Blessing FC is not first. Over the years, players have experienced a similar situation at other ‘smaller’ clubs in the oil-rich country.
The onus is on the management of Blessing FC to address the situation as soon as possible to prevent it from degenerating into an unpleasant event.
