Cameroon finished on top spot, in the 2023 edition of Douala International Athletics Grand Prix, that took place on Sunday, March 26,2023 in Douala.
The Douala international athletics showpiece, brought together a total number of sixteen African Countries and foreigners.
Some of these participatory countries were; Gambia,Niger, Togo, Burkina Faso, Kenya, host Cameroon, Congo, Ethiopia, Djibouti and France.
Both men and women athletes, all competed in High Jump, long jump,lifting, triple jump and in hurdles.
Team Cameroon succeeded in grabbing a total number of 28 medals, with the 29-year-old International sprinter Esseme Emmanuel Alobwede emerging overall best athlete. Alongside his Gambia counter part Gina Bass.
The competition has as objective to prepare the athletes for the upcoming international athletics competitions. As well as, serves as a preparation phase for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
