With just weeks to go before the 2026 Dixiades, preparations are gathering momentum in Douala as the economic capital gets ready to host one of Cameroon’s major celebrations in of youth and sport from December 13 to 22, 2026.
A working session followed by a site inspection was held in Douala under the supervision of Dr Oumarou Tado, Head of Cultural Events for the Dixiades. The meeting brought together the various organising commissions to assess progress and strengthen coordination ahead of the competition.
Discussions focused on preparations for the opening and closing ceremonies, alongside key areas including marketing, communication and protocol. These components are considered essential to delivering an event that meets the expectations of organisers and participants.
Following the planning and coordination meetings, preparations are now moving into the implementation phase, with the practical execution of the agreed activities expected to begin in the coming days.
From December 13 to 22, Douala will welcome young sporting talents from across Cameroon for a celebration designed to promote sporting excellence, youth development, friendship and national unity.
With preparations intensifying, organisers are determined to make the 2026 edition a memorable experience for participants and sports lovers alike.
The message is clear: the real Dixiades experience in 2026 will be in Douala!
