  • Each of the 18 players expecting their pay from the match organizers still hope to hear from them over two weeks after the game
  • Cameroon defeated Nigeria 2-1 in the all Legend game which had Samuel Eto’o, Robert Ndip Tambe and Julius Aghahowa as scorers

A cross section of the Nigerian football legends of the 2000 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) who participated in the friendly game against their Cameroonian counterparts in Limbe earlier this month are planning offensive moves to cause the organizers to meet their financial obligations.

kick442.com has information in good authority that, the Nigerian players who took part in the famous encounter at the Limbe Omnisport Stadium returned to their various destinations without receiving their promised compensation, and have not heard from the organizers for over two weeks.

Per our findings, each player that participated in the game in the sidelines of the second edition of the Plantains and Banana festival project was supposed to receive $5000. Unfortunately, the money hasn’t been paid to date.

Now the Nigerians are planning to go full length to get paid after waiting endlessly for a number of promises to be fulfilled.

“We are planning to have CNN and the rest of them where we will all come together and talk on air. We cannot be humiliated like that by Eto’o and his gang,” one of the Nigerian players who participated in the game told our reporter this Thursday, December 21.

Rumors of non-compliance with the engagement taken towards the Nigerian players first surfaced during their stay in Cameroon, unfortunately for over two weeks nothing has changed about the state of affairs.

It is unclear if the Cameroonians who took part in the game have been paid or not as the same worry hasn’t been echoed in Cameroon.

We will keep tracking this story to ensure proper updates are yours as the story unfolds.
