The Porto Alegre based outfit have reportedly sent an offer to Aboubakar’s entourage for evaluation in view of a switch from Turkey to Brazil in January.

€6 million rated Aboubakar returned to Beşiktaş for his third stint last summer from an initial loan from Al Nassr before opting to make the move permanent. He initially flourished, but a recent deep in form saw Beşiktaş list him for departure.

Aboubakar, 31, is unhappy at his parent club, following Beşiktaş decision to initially add him to a list of players they were keen on releasing before opting to review their decision.

The ‘Imortal Tricolor’ as Grêmio is nicknamed is one of the most followed clubs in the Brazilian top-flight championship these days and it’s fans have only expressed a positive attitude towards the idea of signing the Cameroon legend.

kick442.com understands, Grêmio’s president Alberto Guerra is keen on securing the services of the Cameroon international and will do his all to achieve that in the present circumstances.

Aboubakar began his career at Cotonsport of Garoua before switching to Valenciennes at the age of 18 in 2010. He has gone on to play for FC Lorient, FC Porto, Beşiktaş SK and Al Nassr during a great career that is in its twilight these days.

The Indomitable Lions skipper is his country’s second all-time top scorer behind Samuel Eto’o and is three caps away from becoming a centurian for his nation like Rigobert Song, Samuel Eto’o, Geremi Njitap and Emmanuel Kunde.

We will keep our eyes focused on the developments around the negotiation between the player, his entourage and Grêmio officials.
