Nigerian champions, Delta Queens will face USFA of Burkina Faso, Atletico D’Abidjan of Ivory Coast, and Sam Nelly FC of Benin Republic as it prepares to host the West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) Zonal Qualifiers for the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League.
The draw for the Zonal Qualifiers in four regions (East Africa, North Africa, West Africa A and West Africa B) took place on Wednesday with champions of different leagues getting to know its opponents.
West Africa Zone A (WAFU-A) holders, Determine Girls of Liberia will trade tackles with Dakar Sacre Soeur of Seenegal, AS Mande of Mali, and Mogwemo Queens from Sierra Leone in a round robin group format.
In CECAFA (East Africa) region, JKT Queens of Tanzania which dethroned last year’s champions, Simba Queens will face Vihiga Queens of Kenya which is retuning to the Qualifiers after last year’s FIFA ban.
It will also meet AS Kigali of Rwanda and New Generation FC of Zanzibar in Group B of the zonal qualifiers.
With holders, ASFAR FC already qualified for the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League, Wadi Degla of Egypt will meet Afak Relizane of Algeria, Sport Club Casablanca of Morocco, and Association Sportive Feemenine Sousse from Tunisia in the UNAF (North Africa) round robin zonal qualifers.
The winner of each zones will qualify for the main tournament in Ivory Coast later this year.
The draw for COSAFA (South Africa) and UNIFFAC (Central Africa) Zonal Qualifiers will be conducted at a later dayte.
