The Zambia U17 Women’s National Team has left for Dar es Salaam ahead of this Sunday’s 2024 Dominican Republic FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup second round, return leg qualifier against the Serengeti Girls of Tanzania set for Azam Sports Complex.

The 20-member squad coached by Carol Kanyemba left Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka aboard Air Tanzania at 13h15.

The Copper Princesses are carrying a 5-nil advantage from the first leg played at Nkoloma Stadium with goals from skipper Blessings Zangose Zulu on a brace while Saliya Mwanza, Namute Chileshe Bwalya and Ruth Muwowo contributed a goal each which puts the lasses in a fair position going into this Weekend’s return match.

Winner over two legs will face either Uganda or Cameroon in the third round. The two teams played out to a 1-1 draw in the first leg while the potential third round side Morocco thrashed Niger 11-nil in the other match.
