Uganda Cranes guide at the 2022 TotalEnergies African Nations Championship, CHAN has revealed his side’s ambitions going into their their second group B fixture against Pape Thiaw’s Senegal team.

Sredojevic showered praises on the boys from West during the pre-match conference on Tuesday at the conference room of the 19 May 1956 stadium before revealing how he plans to undo them.

Senegal leading the group with three points and Uganda with a point to their credit will stage a decisive football battle in Annaba through which the Serbian tactician hopes to get Uganda’s first win.

“We are excited over this game and we respect our opponents. But in a game of football, it is unpredictable. We will make the most of our moments and expose their sources of vulnerability. Our ultimate target is to get performance and results,” Micho explained before adding that they are paying maximum attention to details that can decide the game to ensure they get it right.

“We have been working with sleepless nights to have details about the Senegal game. It is a human game and a perfect team doesn’t exist.

Though Uganda are regulars in the competition, Micho showed showed huge respect to their West African opponents while rallying his troops to stand up and be counted.

“So I have watched Senegal, I have respect for their individual quality, and team quality of Senegal. We need to match and outmatch Senegal’s qualities and to display the best performance to get results. I would like to take the pressure off the players, to tell them to compete against their Senegalese brothers,” the man who guided Zambia to the quarter final of the previous edition of the tournament continued.

Uganda will have had a better start to the tournament if not for questionable finishing against DR Congo.

Micho says rectifying that has been part of their job behind the scenes.

“We have deeply analysed the game against DR Congo and want to improve. We are fully aware of the challenge of entering the den of the Lions of Senegal.”

A win for either side in the 8PM kick off at Annaba puts them on the driving seat into the last eight of the competition for the first time in history.
