Potential Indomitable Lions of Cameroon midfielder Carlos Baleba Noom Quomah has been named in Brighton’s starting XI to welcome Manchester City at the Amex Stadium this Thursday evening in match day 30 of the English Premier League.
The 20-year-old sensation will partner Pascal Gross Adam Lallana and Barco in midfield under the watch by Cameroon coach Marc Brys who is at the stadium.
Recently-appointed head coach of Cameroon, Marc Brys is at the stands of the Falmer stadium this Thursday to watch Baleba play against current Premier League leaders Manchester City before holding talks with the entourage of the player to convince the Brighton and Hove Albion teenage sensation to join the Indomitable Lions.
Manchester City travel to the south coast to take on Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton side knowing the situation they find themselves in this season.
Pep Guardiola and his players will be well aware that the direction of this season’s Premier League title is currently in their hands, and should they win all of their remaining six top-flight matches, they will become champions for the fourth successive season.
Manchester City come into the contest fresh off the back of a 1-0 win over Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley Stadium, and a two-day rest issued by Pep Guardiola following an intense week that also saw them lose out to Real Madrid after 120 minutes of action.
Ahead of kick-off at the Amex Stadium on Thursday night, both Roberto De Zerbi and Pep Guardiola have confirmed their respective Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester City starting line-ups!

After the game the Belgian tactician is expected to discuss with Baleba’s father (who recently moved to England) and his representative with hopes of getting the former U-17 Lions vice captain into the senior national team as soon as possible.
Baleba, 20, has made 23 Premier League appearances this season and is a regular in big games, during which he always puts in a shift as expected by coach Roberto De Zerbi.
Since switching to England after just a year at Lille, there has been a populous call for him to be called up to the Cameroon senior national team. Unfortunately, it didn’t happen under Rigobert Song as a section of fans have it that the player wasn’t interested at the time.
It is hoped that the new project in players and the approach of players selection will entice the player to return to international football which he hasn’t been part of since December 2020 when he last featured for the U-17 national team.
Meeting Baleba will add to the list of players he has held talks with in preparations for the June FIFA window and beyond.
Brys was appointed to replace Rigobert Song only last month but has since met Jean Charles Castelleto, Andre Onana Onana, Ignatius Ganago amongst others.
Brys’ Cameroon are currently top of Group D of African qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, following a win over Mauritius and an away draw with Libya.
Cameroon’s Sports Minister Narcisse Mouelle Kombi said the mission for coach Brys is to qualify the Lions for the upcoming FIFA World Cup and ensure their commendable performance at the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
