Cameroon women’s league side Canon Football Filles of Yaounde, has announced that they will be returning to Guinness Super League this week.

The Female Football League of Cameroon in a communiqué signed on February 02, 2023 by its Sidonie Tagne, indicated that Canon FF has been declared general forfeiture, after falling to show up in more than three league games this season.

“In accordance with article 31 of the regulations of the Guinness Super League for the 2022/2023 Sporting season, Canon Sportif Filles has been declared general forfeiture,” the communiqué reads.

But now, a communiqué from the communication department of Canon FF indicates that the team will be back in action this week, after winning their case at the Appeals commission of the Cameroon Football Federation.

“Canon sportif filles of Yaounde is pleased to announce to the general public the positive outcome of her appeal at the Appeals Commission of the Cameroon federation football,” Canon Filles wrote.

“Indeed, following the decisions N°004/FCF/CFHD/2023 Case Eding Sport Girls against Canon
Sports Girl’s (Failure to present licenses) on the first Day of Guinness Super League and
No. 008/FCF/CFHD/2023 Canon Sportif girls case against NGADEU FFA. (Lack of presentation of licenses). Day 2 of the Guinness Super League Sports Season 2022/2023 of the Federal Homologation and Disciplinary Commission sanctioning Canon sportif girls of Yaounde to lose these two matches by forfeiture, President Noah Soter filed an appeal for annulment on February 1, 2023, which was considered by the appeals committee,” Canon continued.

According to Canon, the appeals commission has annuled the two decisions from the homologation and discipline commission, and ordered the rescheduling of their games.

Canon FF has not played any game of the 2022/2023 Guinness Super League season, which has already gone seven playing days.
