- In 2017, Minkreo Birwe became only the second Cameroonian coach to take a local club to the group stage of the CAF Champions League
- APEJES hired him to replace Cyrille Billong who has been relieved of his duties
- APEJES are stirring relegation and an end to their over a decade stay in the top-flight championship
Cameroon Elite One old timers APEJES of Mfou have completed the acquisition coach Minkreo Birwe for the rest of the 2023/24 season.
The experienced former Cotonsport of Garoua trainer replaces Cyrille Billong on a short-term deal which will last the duration of the relegation playoffs and span seven matches.
The move provides a window back to the coaching commitment for Minkreo Birwe who had excused himself from such responsibilities since departure from Canon of Yaoundé two seasons ago.
Coach Birwe was presented to the club’s players this week by president Leon Aime Zang and he immediately took office to ensure that Noh Nafeng Yvan, Teikeu Parfait and co are ready before the start of the eight-clubs relegation playoffs which will end without five clubs in the top-flight.
