Cameroon duo Atezambong Carine Fomo and Sidiki Boubakary have been named in the crew of match officials for this Sunday’s U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 opening game pitting host Egypt against South Africa.
The appointments announced by the Confederation of African Football on Saturday, April 25 have Ca leftrine as the assistant Video Assistant Referee while Dr Sidiki is the doping control officer for the game 9pm appointment at the Cairo International stadium.
Carine who had the same role in the CAF Confederation Cup semi final first leg game last weekend will be making her second appearance in the U-20 AFCON and her 14th tournament appearance overall alongside her compatriot who has done as many CAF tournaments.
The full crew of officials include Aklesso Gnama from Togo as Referee while Côte D’Ivoire’s Eba Medard Ettien amd Khalidou Ba from Mauritania are his two assistants plus Abdallah Jammeh of The Gambia is the fourth official.
The match will have Issaka Adamou as the Commissioner and Woreta Hallu of Ethiopia as Referee Assessor, alongside Algeria’s Billel Guendor as General Coordinator.
Mali’s experience coach Mohamed Magasouba leads the Technical study group in a game in which Omer Chakir Paraiso and Mohammed Thabet are marketing and Media Officers respectively.
Carine who is in her 15th international tournament is expected to be at the peak of her power during this tournament which will be her 15th in what has been a glittering career spanning over a decade.
