President of Cameroon’s football Federation, Samuel Eto’o, has been received by Algerian Ambassador to Cameroon this Monday, January 9,2023.

This comes barely days before the start of the 2022 African Nations Championship, at a time when there’s been a tensed atmosphere between the Cameroonian football fanatics and their Algerian counterparts.

It is unclear what both men discussed but what is certain is there should be some football conversation involved.

Events of the last nine months have dampened the relationship between both parties accusing each other for one reason or the other.

The visit of Samuel Eto’o to the Algerian ambassador is certainly a welcome development to football lovers from both nations, given that Cameroon will be travelling to Algeria to make her 5th participation in the CHAN tournament.

Cameroonians who have gone ahead to witness the tournament, have testified that the Algerians have been very friendly and receptive to them in their country.

However, there have been some isolated cases of bad blood existing between both countries.

FECAFOOT President’s visit could be seen as a step in the right direction as the leader of Cameroon’s football hopes to ensure a better atmosphere between the country’s football lover and the Algerian Counterparts.
