Hours to the crucial encounter against Epah Ngamba, coach Severino Oyana Rondo has targeted a victory for tournament dark horses, Huracanes.
UNIFFAC CAF women’s champions league playoffs hosts Huracanes are on the path of history. A victory against Epah Ngamba will see the Equatorial Guinea women’s championship holders represent the UNIFFAC zone in the upcoming CAF women’s champions league.
In the build up to the pulsating encounter, Rondo told Journalists that the game is of utmost importance.
“As per what concerns our qualification, we are concentrated. Technically. We drew lessons from our last game.
“We will do our best team tomorrow for the game.”
A victory of any sort sees Huracanes or a draw take over the UNIFFAC zonal reign from last year’s winners, TP Mazembe.
However, the experienced gaffer was quick to wave aside the favorites tag hanging over his team;
“We are not favorites. A qualifications game always comes with a lot of emotions. It is a final. Any team can cause problems at this level. We will play with a positive mindset and hope we can get the three points. If we can get a draw at the end of the day, it will still be great,” Severino ended.
One of the top performers of the competition this far, Elena Obolo, added flesh to her gaffer’s words, aiming at victory.
After her much celebrated double in the opener against TP Mazembe, Elana wishes to add to her tally, and carry her team to victory.
“Personally, I am going to approach the game tomorrow like the last game.
“It isn’t going to be just about me, but the team as well. The ladies are highly spirited ahead of the game,” Elena opined.
Huracanes FC have a job of defeating Epah Ngamba at the Estadio National de Malabo on Thursday, a victory that will see the team automatically qualify to the CAF women’s champions league finals in Côte D’Ivoire as UNIFFAC zonal champions.
