Tanzanian Premier League side Singida Big Stars have approached related parties as part of efforts to outsmart Simba SC and recruit star Cotonsport defender Che Malone Fondoh Junior.

Malone who will be out of contract in a few months is attracting interest from across the board though Cotonsport is not keen on letting him go.

Simba SC had approached the Cotonites for the services of the 24-year-old last week and talks are ongoing, however we understand Big Stars have tabled an offer.

Stars are keen on building a competitive squad for next season, having finished fourth and earned a place in the CAF interclub competitions next season.

They will play in the CAF Confederation Cup which starts in August. We understand the club sees Malone as an ideal addition to make this window though Coton has placed a hefty price on the Cameroon international.

Big Stars will thus rival Simba SC in the race for the player’s signature, hoping to outsmart their rival in a rare front, having finished two places behind them in the domestic championship.

Malone has enjoyed a successful time at Cotonsport, having joined two seasons ago from Union Sportive of Douala. He made 68 appearances for Coton, winning two domestic titles and the cup of Cameroon.

The former Continental FA of Buea defender is a full Cameroon international. He has played for the intermediate and senior national teams of the country in the last six months.
