The Algerian officiating team, led by the esteemed Ghorbal Mustapha, has landed in Cameroon, signaling the imminent kickoff of the highly anticipated World Cup qualifier between Cameroon and Cape Verde at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium.

Mustapha, a 38-year-old referee with international acclaim since 2014, is renowned for his role matches at the 34th AFCON in Ivory Coast. He will serve as the main referee for Saturday’s pivotal Group D encounter.

On June 8 in Yaoundé, Mustapha will be joined by his Algerian colleagues Gourari Mokrane and Zerhouni Abbes Akram serving as the first and second assistants, respectively.

Additionally, Gamouh Youcef, also from Algeria, and Labrosse Jean Claude from Seychelles will assume the roles of the fourth official and Referee assessor.

The match commissioner duties have been entrusted to Ondo Abeku Pedro Alogo from Equatorial Guinea.

Mustapha’s distinguished career includes officiating three matches at the recent FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022.

His expertise earned him a spot among the elite group of five referees considered for the prestigious task of overseeing the final match between Argentina and France in Doha, underscoring his status as one of Africa’s top referees.
