AFCON 2023 Qualifiers: Angola spoils C.A.R planned party in Douala

Angola has defeated the Central African Republic 1#2 to move to the second spot in Group E of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers.

Goals from Kialonda Gasper and Milson for Angola were enough for Angola to grab all three points and spoil the planned party by Central African Republic despite a first half equalizer from Geoffrey Kondogbia.

Played at the Reunification Stadium in Douala, Cameroon, the Central African Republic needed a win to secure their first ever AFCON participation ticket and had brought in thousand of fans from Bangui.

Kialonda Gasper opened scores for Angola at the 12th minute of the match and Angola were able to maintain the lead till the end of the first half.

The Central African Republic took just a minute after the restart in thee second half to level scores through Geoffrey Kondogbia.

Things got heated in the match and at the 70th minute of the match, Dominique Youfeigane was shown a straight red card.

16 minutes later, Milton scored the second goal for Angola.

In stoppage time, coach Raoul Savoy of Central African Republic was shown a straight red card.

The victory now takes Angola to the second position with 8 points while Central African Republic is third with 7 points.
