The Organizing Committee of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 and the National Agency for Waste Management (ANAGED) signed on Friday, January 5, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding on the management of waste within sports and non-sports infrastructures, within the framework of the tournament.
The ceremony presided over by Minister François Albert Amichia, was held in the presence of Mrs. Sarrahn Ouattara, General Director of ANAGED, of Mr. Sarrahn. Isui Yukichi Jica Deputy Resident Representative and Mr. Isui Yukuchi Ouattara Lazeni, Director of Sanitation and Sanitation.
President Amicha wished to reiterate his thanks to ANAGED for its commitment to making AFCON 2023 a waste-free competition.
He also thanked Jica, a special partner of the AFCON, for its contribution to the organisation of the competition.
The Director General of ANAGED congratulated the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding, whose objective is to preserve a healthy and waste-free environment for the Ivorian population, as well as for the visitors who will stay in Côte d’Ivoire during the Africa Cup of Nations 2023.
Meanwhile, the organising committee of AFCON 2023 will be organising a press conference on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
The conference will be held at the Palace of Culture – Hall Kodjo Ebouclé, from 11:00.
It will be an opportunity to take stock of the organization of the African Cup of Nations TotalEnergies CAF, Cote d’Ivoire 2023 three (3) days from the start of the final tournament.
The conference activity will be chaired by Minister François Albert Amicha, President of the AFCON 2023 Organising Committee. All topics related to the competition will be covered there.
