As we welcome a new year 2024, football enthusiasts gathered in the crocodile city of Kaduna northern Nigeria for the 2023/2024 Xchange Sports 5 Aside Grassroots Football Tournament at Kadwel Sports Complex.
The President of the African Beach Soccer Union (ABSU) who is also the coordinator of the Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) was the special guest of honour at the final match.
He observed the ceremonial kick-off and also participated in a novelty all stars match.
During the novelty match, Hadejia showcased his football skills and scored a hat-trick and provided an assist as his team won 4-3.
The final of the Xchange Sports tournament took place on new year’s day between RCCG Great Grace Football Academy and Chelsea Barrack Football Club.
The encounter ended in a 1-1 draw after regulation time with RCCG Great Grace Football Academy securing a 4-2 victory on penalties.
This is the fourth edition of the Xchange Sports 5 Aside Grassroots Football Tournament.
The maiden edition took place in 2020 with 32 teams.
Rated as one of the best tournaments so far in Kaduna State, the Xchange Sports 5 Aside Grassroots Football Tournament is an annual event.
