With the temperature at 33°C, and sunny weather as of the time of this report, the commercial city of Abidjan looks set for a titanic finale between two West African giants.
Nigeria against host, Cote D’Ivoire in a repeat of earlier Group A encounter which ended 1-0 in favour of the Super Eagles.
William Troost Ekong’s second-half penalty was all it wrote when both sides last met.
With a few hours to the important match, the atmosphere around the Stade Olympique Alassane Ouattara, Ebimpe, Abidjan is electric with neighbouring areas laced with Ivory Coast flags.
Fans of both sides have begun to throng the stadium with four hours to the kick-off of the match.
Ivorians are happy, glad, elated, and in high spirits anticipating a win that will keep the title at home.
Hawkers and street vendors are making good sales from journalists, fans, tourists, and other visitors to the stadium for an exciting spectacle.

The Ivorian journalists are not left out as the majority of them at the stadium are putting on their national team jerseys in support and solidarity for an anticipated win.
The same can’t be said about Nigeria as the supporters’ clubs are expected to be at the stadium.
Not expected to outnumber the home fans and supporters but the supporters of the three-time African champions in their little number are willing to throw their solidary for the Super Eagles as they attempt to win their fourth title.
A similar atmosphere was experienced when the two teams traded tackles in the group stage.
With the top prize in sight, the two teams from West Africa Zone B (WAFU-B) intend to prove their continental supremacy at the end of the game.
