AFCON 2023: Angola pick first quarter-final ticket over Namibia

Angola became the first team to qualify for the quarter final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) after a 3-0 victory against Namibia in the first Rounbd of 16 clash at the Stade de la Paix, Bouake on Saturday.

The game pitted Group D winners against Group E third placed side that secured qualification as one of the best four third placed team.

In the additional minutes of the second half, Angola’s Zito Luvumbo unleashed a thunderous effort from the edge of the box and the ball crashed off the woodwork as his team got the deserved result to progress into the quarter final.

Angola will face the winner of the Round of 16 game between Nigeria and Cameroon in the quarter final.
