- Nagida could be our for 3-4 weeks in treatment of a knee problem
- He was introduced in the 75th minute against AC Milan last Thursday, but limped off injured injured in added time
- He will be back before the end of the season in June
Stade Rennes coach, Julien Stephane says the club will miss the services of their talented Cameroonian full-back Aboubakar Nagida Mohammadou for a number of weeks.
Nagida was a substituted substitute last Thursday as Rennes lost to AC Milan in the 16th final of the UEFA Europa League and reports now suggest the knee problem which forced him off is severe enough to keep him on the treatment table for weeks.
“At the moment, we can speak about the gravity of the injury with certainty. However, there’s a chance we have lost him for weeks,” coach Stephane revealed in one of his recent media briefings.
The 18-year-old joined Rennes late last year and quickly integrated as one of the versatile wing-backs. Unfortunately, he will be missed for a while during which the medical crew of the club will maximize their efforts to ensure he returns soonest.
Nagida, a graduate from the famous Brasserie Football Academy in Douala and a former Cameroon youth international will stay in France throughout the rehab period.
Nagida is one of the tenths of the members of the 2021 generation of U-17 Lions that have gone on to quickly picked attractive opportunities at top clubs around the world and continue developing into the next collection of the Indomitable Lions.
