Cameroon International, Vincent Aboubakar has gifted his FIFA World Cup jersey to FC Porto president, Jorge Nuno Da Costa.
The striker who sparkled for the indomitable lions Cameroon visited Portugal on his way back from Qatar.
Vincent Aboubakar played for FC Porto between 2014 to 2020. During his time at the club, he made 83 appearances and scored 36 goals. He also won the Portuguese league and cup.
“The president is a special person in my life, he treated me like his son,” Aboubakar said during the event.
The former FC Porto forward scored a looped finish against Serbia and an exquisite header against Brazil, to become the first African team to defeat Brazil in the world cup.
Aboubakar was involved in three of all four goals scored by Cameroon in the world cup as their run ended in the group stage.
After Cameroon’s elimination from the competition, the Confederation of African Football, CAF, eulogized him for his display at the FIFA World Cup.
The Porto El supremo also had some kind words for the lethal finisher; “After several years, him coming here to give me this shirt is of huge significance.” Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa stated.
30-year-old Vincent Aboubakar has enjoyed a great 2022 for his country Cameroon. He finished top scorer of the last AFCON with eight goals and Cameroon’s top scorer of the World Cup with two goals.
