ISOHSA key forward Deodone Onega Nkongho has dedicated his club’s first ever League title triumph to former player, Joel Etogue, who died from a road accident earlier this month.

The teenage helped his side beat Kumba City FC 1-0 in the tightly-contested final to earn the trophy.

Onega who had carved a nitch for scoring important goals came on as a half-time substitute for Brandon Babo and scored what turned out to be the winner just four minutes after his introduction.

After the game, revealed that the victory was for those associated with ISOHSA who had invested over the years, including former star Joel Etogue who passed on after being involved in a road accident.

“For my big brother and friend is no longer here – for Joel Etogue I dedicate this goal and the trophy.”

“I hope he is proud of us as well as the fans,” added Navas. “We lifted the trophy with him in mind knowing he was always a captain.”

Etogue joined ISOHSA midway to the 2023 season from FC Ebolowa and made five appearances for the club before passing on days before the start of the regional playoffs.

The legendary midfielder featured for UMS of Loum, Tiko United FC, YOSA of Bamenda, Kumba Lakers, Little Foot FC, EEMSA of Tiko before his demise.

Etogue’s demise sent shock down the spine of the ISOHSA players who contemplated abandonment of the championship before deciding to play and win in honor of their ex mate.

ISOHSA will travel to Yaounde for the national playoffs which is expected to start this Saturday. They are pitted against champions of the Center, West , East and Far North Regional championships.
