26-year-old sensational Moroccan midfielder Sofyan Amrabat, with an eye-catching performance in the ongoing Qatar World Cup with the Atlas lions of Morocco has seemingly opened the doors for Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Inter Milan to bid for the defensive midfielder.
Morocco are one of the few surprise teams at the World Cup in Qatar. Sofyan Amrabat has been the beating heart of the brave and courageous run to the semi-finals.
Although Liverpool are reportedly targeting the Moroccan midfielder Amrabat, the Reds could find it difficult to seal his signature as Fiorentina have made the decision not to sell him.
Fiorentina suggest that the club are not keen on selling one of their key players, midway through the campaign. He is under contract until the summer of 2024, but they retain an option to extend his deal by a further year.
Whilst a move has been ruled out, it remains to be seen whether Fiorentina’s stance would change should bids come in from Liverpool or any other interested parties, such as Atletico Madrid and Tottenham.
The Spurs side has taken the lead on Liverpool, Inter Milan by making a huge £30M deal to Fiorentina.
In 2017, Amrabat’s career path began to take shape. He secured a move to Feyernoord following a four-year stint with boyhood club Utrecht. After just one season, he moved to Belgium to play for Club Brugge, before quickly being loaned out to Hellas Verona. From there, Fiorentina kept him in the country on a permanent basis when they signed him in the winter window.
A combative central midfielder, Amrabat has been a key part of the Fiorentina team.
Amrabat made his full international debut on March 28, 2017 in a 1-0 win over Tunisia.
