Morocco will take centre stage in women’s youth football when it hosts the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup from October 17 to November 7, 2026. The tournament will be staged in Rabat and Salé, bringing together some of the world’s most promising young female footballers for a month-long celebration of the game.

The 2026 edition will feature 24 teams divided into six groups, with Africa strongly represented among the contenders. Morocco, Zambia, Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya will carry African hopes as they compete against some of the leading youth football nations from Europe, Asia, North America, South America and Oceania.

Morocco will compete in Group A alongside Argentina, Germany and New Zealand. Group B features Brazil, Canada, Puerto Rico and Norway, while Group C brings together Nigeria, Poland, Ghana and Canada according to the published tournament information. Zambia will face Japan, France and Venezuela in Group D, while Group E includes Spain, Mexico, Samoa and China. Group F brings together the United States, Australia, Chile and Kenya.

The tournament represents another important milestone for Morocco, which has established itself as a major destination for international football in recent years. Rabat and Salé will provide the backdrop for a competition designed not only to identify the next generation of stars but also to further promote the growth and visibility of women’s football.

Matches will be played at venues including the Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium, with fans expected to have the opportunity to watch some of the world’s best emerging talents at close quarters. The tournament will also provide an important platform for African teams to test themselves against the strongest youth programmes from around the world.

With the competition running from October 17 to November 7, attention will turn to which nation can produce the performances required to lift the trophy. For Morocco, hosting the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup offers another opportunity to showcase its football infrastructure and its growing ambition to become one of the continent’s leading hosts of major international competitions.
