Colombe Sportive du Dja et Lobo have emerged champions of Cameroon’s MTN Elite one championship for the second time in a row, thanks to the collective efforts of the club’s management, staff and players.
But if there’s one man that has stood out for years, that would be Randy Ntuwe Kwalar, Colombe’s captain and by far, the most consistent player in the Elite One Championship over the last 4 seasons. Leader on the pitch, solid in midfield, and the man they turn to when a big moment arrives.
The midfield maestro who was already Cameroon league and Cup winner, had his name in history books again in their historic back-to-back title chase. Randy opened the scoring in Colombe’s 7-0 win over Fauve Azur with, as usual a powerful long-range strike. That goal set the pace to seal the title and the strike isn’t luck anymore. It’s his calling card, and he delivered it when the title was on the line.
He contributed seven goals to Colombe’s 47 scored this season( three goals, four assists)
Season after season, he’s been one of Colombe’s most reliable performer, rarely injured, rarely suspended but instead he is always involved, leading by example.
Speaking to Kick442.com after emerging champion again, a fulfilled Captain said
“it feels unreal. When we started rough we almost gave up along the line saying it would be impossible to catch up but God had other plans. I’m full of gratitude to God, to my teammates, to the staff, and to our fans who never stopped believing. This indeed has been a journey. This one is for everyone who trusted us. We worked for it, we suffered for it, and we deserved it.”
Randy Ntuwe joined the South Doves five years ago from Yong Sport Academy of Bamenda after captaining the side for two seasons, already showing the leadership traits that define him today.
Since joining Colombe Sportive du Dja et Lobo, he’s become the heartbeat of the team.
For the last 3 years, Randy has been Colombe’s most dependable midfielder and its undisputed leader on the pitch, best known for dictating the tempo of a game and has that trademark long-range strike and set piece ability that changes games.
In five years at Colombe, he’s rarely missed, rarely faded. For atleast the last four seasons, he’s been arguably the most consistent player in Elite One.
And leading Colombe to another silverware means, representing the nation on the continental stage-The CAF Champions league.
Two years as Yong Sport captain. Five years as Colombe’s engine. Three years as the league’s gold standard for midfield leadership. Randy Ntuwe Kwalar isn’t just part of Colombe’s success story, he’s one of the reason it keeps going their way.
