Lekie FC strengthened their push near the top of the Guinness Super League standings with an impressive 3-1 victory over Amazone FAP on matchday 13, Friday May 16, at the Annex No.1 Stadium in Mfandena. The win takes Lekie to 26 points from 13 matches, keeping them firmly in third place behind leaders FC Ebolowa and second-placed Dja Sports.

The star of the afternoon was undoubtedly Lys Tiwa, who delivered another standout performance to inspire Lekie FC to all three points. The forward opened the scoring just one minute into the game after being set up by Achang Codelia, immediately putting Amazone FAP under pressure. Tiwa later added her second goal from the penalty spot in the 55th minute, restoring Lekie’s lead and taking her personal tally to an impressive 12 goals this season.

Before Tiwa’s second strike, Amazone FAP had briefly drawn level through Maeva Nyadjou in the 30th minute after an assist from Ndome, ensuring the teams went into halftime tied at 1-1. But Lekie returned from the break with greater attacking intent, and Tiwa once again proved decisive with her calm finish from the spot.

Just three minutes later, Machia Farida sealed the victory for Lekie in the 58th minute, finishing off an assist from Confidence to make it 3-1. The result confirmed Lekie’s attacking efficiency and defensive resilience against a stubborn Amazone FAP side currently battling in mid-table.

Tiwa’s brace not only earned her the Woman of the Guinnessico award, but also strengthened her grip on the league’s top scorers’ chart. She now leads the race with 12 goals, ahead of Flora Kameni and Mekuko on 11 each, while Makoma follows with 10 and Nkoussa with 9.

With 13 rounds played, Lekie FC remain serious contenders in the title race, sitting just two points behind second-placed Dja Sports and nine adrift of dominant leaders FC Ebolowa. For Tiwa, however, this latest masterclass further cements her status as one of the standout players of the 2025/26 Guinness Super League campaign.
