Cameroonian forward Ayuk Cosmas starred for Al Bidda SC, scoring a brace to drive his side to a convincing 3–1 victory over Al-Sailiya in the Qatar Stars League Cup play-offs on Tuesday.
The former Best Stars Academy of Limbe product, who also represented Cameroon at youth international level, was the standout performer at the Grand Hamad Stadium, helping Al Bidda take a significant step in the knockout stages of Qatar’s domestic cup competition.
Al Bidda took control early, with Cosmas breaking the deadlock and setting the tone for his team. He added a second later in the match, giving his side a commanding lead before Al-Sailiya managed a consolation goal. The win sends Al Bidda through to the next round as they continue their campaign in the Stars League Cup.
The 3–1 scoreline marked a strong response from Al Bidda following their earlier successes in the competition, and Cosmas’ performance drew praise from fans and pundits alike for his clinical finishing and attacking threat.
Cosmas, once regarded as one of Cameroon’s bright young talents, has been developing his career in Qatar, bringing experience and goals to the second-tier side and now catching wider attention with his Cup exploits.
Al Bidda’s next challenge will be confirmed once the remaining play-off fixtures are completed, but Tuesday’s victory and Cosmas’ double has certainly put the club in good stead as they pursue further progress in the Stars League Cup.
