Cameroon international Andre Frank Zambo has picked up muscle injury that will rule him out of the next few games for Napoli, including the top of the table clash against Inter Milan.
Napoli released an official statement on Tuesday to reveal the Indomitable Lions vice captain suffered an injury against Como.
“Frank Anguissa suffered a muscle strain in Napoli’s last match against Como. The midfielder underwent diagnostic tests today at the Pineta Grande Hospital which revealed a lesion of the soleus muscle of his right leg. Anguissa is undergoing his rehabilitation process,” the club’s communication read.
The former Fulham and Villarreal star felt pain toward the end of Napoli’s 2-1 league defeat at newcomers Como though he completed the game.
The medical situation now shows he is expected to skip Saturday’s pivotal fixture at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.
Therefore, he’ll watch the game from the stands and have little or no impact in it.
His absence leaves manager Antonio Conte pondering his options as replacing Anguissa won’t be simple.
Indeed, the 29-year-old has been omnipresent for the Partenopei this season.
Before coming off the bench against Como, he had started all 25 previous Serie A games under Conte.
His absence is a significant boast for Inter Milan who are currently enjoying a fine domestic season and targeting another Serie A title.
