Intermediate Lions touch down Oran

Cameroon’s National team of local players have arrived Oran in Algeria where their African Nations Championship games will be staged.

Coach Alioum Saidou and the whole entourage touched down the city of Oran on Friday evening, January 13, same day the competition began.

However, the Intermediate Lions will begin their campaign in this 7th edition of the CHAN in Algeria on Monday, January 16 against Congo Brazzaville.

Having played three test matches in Tunisia where they camped ahead of the competition, the Lions recorded two draws and one victory over Uganda, Ivorycoast and Sudan respectively.

Cameroon will be making her 5th participation in the tournament they failed to claim on home soil back in the 2020 edition.

Thé A’ Lions are yet to clinch a CHAN trophy after finishing Fourth during the sixth edition at home, loosing to defending champions Morocco. This will be their chance to go in search of a first title

Dooh Yves Moukoko supposedly in charge of leading the squad alongside Malone Che, Etta Bawak and co, are the boys to make the difference in Algeria.

They have been paired in group E alongside Niger and Congo Brazzaville.

The CHAN 2022 competition debut saw host nation Algeria outsmart 2014 winner Libya 1-0 to pick up first three points of the tournament and go top of group A.
