  • Tabe Brenda’s brace took her season tally to ten goals this season for Lekie Filles
  • It is the fifth consecutive season Tabe Brenda has attained the ten-goal marker
  • The win for Lekie and FC Ebolowa puts them on the 47 points each going into the final three games of the season

The neck-to-neck battle for the 2023/24 Guinness Super League title will continue into match day 20, this afternoon Saturday’s narrow victories for FC Ebolowa and Lekie Filles FC.

A late strike from Abega Berthe Bengono added three points to FC Ebolowa’s credit following a 1-0 win against struggling Eding Sport. A result which keeps their chase for a title alive in the same Saturday afternoon Brenda Tabe put on a Woman of Guinnessico performance to help Lekie Filles to a 2-1 win against resurgent Amazone FAP.

FC Ebolowa squandered a number of chances in a game pundits had tipped to be easier against relegation-threatened Eding Sport. An 88th minute goal from Berthe delivered coach Oudou Kpoumie’s girls and kept their title hopes alive in the same afternoon Lekie beat FAP 2-1 courtesy of a brace from Tabe Brenda.

The win for the defending champions, Lekie and aspiring champions FC Ebolowa takes the points tally to 47 each going into the final three games of the season.

Though FC Ebolowa lead the chase per head-to-head consideration, there is a growing sensation that there could be a late twist in the final spring to the podium.

Lekie edged Éclair to win their first-ever title last season, which was their second season in the division.

This season, unbeaten FC Ebolowa have led the race all along and look destined to win their first Guinness Super League title except a last minute disaster pushes them to bottle it at the eleventh hour.

Elsewhere, Tim Shalom Nakoma Ngam scored her ninth goal of the season from the penalty spot while Shalom Sharee got the other goal as Authentic Ladies sunk AS Fortuna deeper into relegation troubles following a 2-0 win in Douala.

The rest of the Match day 19 matches will be played this Sunday at the FECAFOOT Technical Center in Odza.Copyright©2024 kick442.com-Cameroon.
