- FC Ebolowa will look to maintain their unbeaten run away to the Authentic Ladies team that first caused them to drop points
- Last season’s winners and runners-up Lekie and Éclair respectively lock horns
- Caiman take their brilliant form of two wins in two away to struggling Awa Filles FC
Match day 14 fixtures of the Cameroon women’s top-flight championship dubbed the Guinness Super League will be played this weekend across the country as leaders FC Ebolowa travel to Douala to confront title contenders Authentic Ladies FC.
Authentic on a run of two defeats in the past two games will be hoping to draw inspiration from the reversed fixture played late last year during which they became the first club to pinch points off the runaway league leaders.
Weekend hostilities will start at the Omnisport Annex stadium in Yaoundé which has been selected as home for the lunch time relegation dogfight between AS Fortuna and Ita Mbong of Nkambe. Both clubs will be hoping to return to winning ways having failed to do so in the previous round of matches two weeks earlier.
Eding Sport versus Dja Sports Academy of Meyomessala is the second event of the day at the same venue. Another fixture between two clubs of similar form this season and with the aim of just beating the drop.
The rest of the matches will be played on Sunday, beginning with that of 1pm at the Olembe Annex A Stadium.
Awa Filles FC’s clash against in-form Caiman Filles is another tricky fixture. The clash of the former League winners is an opportunity for Caiman to win three games in a row for the first time in a long time. Their hosts are hoping to draw inspiration from their performance in the 0-1 defeat against Lekie Filles during match day 13.
Authentic Ladies’ clash against FC Ebolowa is somewhat a redemption chance for Tim Shalom Nakoma and her mates. Authentic somehow felt hard done in the reversed fixture as they conceded a debatable penalty through FC Ebolowa equalized and denied them all three points. As if that is not enough motivation, Authentic return home after two away defeats away to Lekie Filles and Éclair FC in the last two rounds of league matches.
The Ngoa Ekelle stadium in Yaoundé will be the focal point of the day as Amazone FAP entertains the visit of Louves Minprof in a center region derby and holders Lekie clash with Éclair in a pulsating Guinnessico of game week 14.
Though FC Ebolowa currently enjoy a four points gap atop the league standings and looks like a serious title contender, this weekend looks like one in which Authentic Ladies may upset the apple cart.
